Truck Of The Month!!

Dale Blevins’ 1942 AutoCar!

Not another one like it, that’s for sure! This awesome little hauler project really came together recently under the direction and design of Cory and the fella’s at Peterbilt of Joplin.
The truck has been in the Blevins family since the 1960’s and, back in the day, was actually used in the construction of I-44. Dale’s wife Faye had intentions of having it secretly restored and ‘surprising’ Dale with it someday, but Dale lost Faye in June of 07’.
Shortly thereafter, some of Dale’s longtime friends devised a plan to get the Autocar in the shop and get the renovation started to bring a smile to Dale’s face and also as a tribute to his wonderful wife Faye.
The fella’s at Peterbilt completely reworked the cab/grille and hood, mounted it on a late model Pete chassis equipped with a 330hp Cat, Allison automatic trans and a 2.93 rear axle on full air suspension, then………. had a custom sleeper built by Double Eagle to compliment the overall look and style of the truck. It was sprayed pearl white with ‘serious silver’ accents and all the custom fabricated trim pieces really came to life!
This lil’ rig will catch your eye every time you walk near it!
Dale is planning to use the A-Car to enjoy the rodeo circuit with his grandson, as they pull their stock trailer with living quarters to livestock events across the Midwestern USA.
Have fun, Dale-you got a ‘winner’ of a truck!
